About the ThinPrep Imaging System
The ThinPrep Imaging System represents a significant advance in diagnostic capability, with two unique components for comprehensive and accurate cervical cancer testing. The ThinPrep Pap Test offers several advantages over the conventional pap smear, including improved disease detection and testing for HPV, Chlamydia, and Gonorrhea straight from the vial, and the ThinPrep Imaging System with Dual Review offers additional advantages over manually reviewed ThinPrep Pap Test slides.
Benefits of Dual Review Screening
The ThinPrep Imaging System has been shown to provide increased sensitivity and specificity over manually reviewed ThinPrep Pap Test slides. In one study, the ThinPrep Imaging System was found to have a 50% reduction in false negative fraction when compared to manually reviewed ThinPrep Pap Test slides.1
How Dual Review Screening Works
With Dual Review screening, every slide is analyzed by the ThinPrep Imaging System and screened by a skilled cytotechnologist. Cells of interest are highlighted for cytotechnologists’ review, helping them to better focus their interpretive skills where it counts most.
